Online CPD recording
From April 2012, veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses will be able to record their continuing professional development (CPD) online, via a new system provided by the RCVS. 
The online system should aid practice managers in ensuring that the vets and RVNs in their practice are properly recording the CPD they carry out, and are planning their CPD in order to gain maximum benefit from it.
The new system, which will be part of the Professional Development Record, will allow include a diary, notes section and upload facility, and will be available to all, free of charge.
It will enable users to share a summary of their CPD with their employer (for example, for a Practice Standards inspection).
It will not be compulsory to use the online system: the traditional RCVS CPD record card will remain available from RCVSonline.
