Virbac's 'CPD & Surf' combo a winner

More than 35 vets took part in a recent 'CPD and Surf' event held by veterinary pharmaceutical giant Virbac at Britain's most famous surf beach in Newquay, Cornwall.
Attendees spent the morning of March 28, 2012, updating their knowledge of dermatology and reproductive control in dogs and cats with Virbac's technical adviser, Alex Allen.
However, after lunch they swapped their note pads for wet suits and attended a surfing lesson on Fistral beach, dubbed the Surf Capital of the West.
Vets taking to the water included Katherine Garside from Witten Lodge Veterinary Centre in Northam (pictured) and Julian Cosser from Langport Vets in Somerset.
Mr Cosser said: "This was the best CPD event ever! It was informative in the morning, great in the afternoon, and really good to meet up with colleagues in an informal friendly environment."
Della Tomlinson, territory manager for Virbac in Cornwall, added: "Everyone learnt a great deal in both the morning and afternoon sessions – and we all had a fantastic time in the surf with the only injury being a slightly bruised buttock."
