Alnorthumbria Veterinary Group has secured funding for growth from Barclays Corporate, enabling the refurbishment of existing premises and the purchase & development of a state-of-the-art equine clinic in Northumberland.
The group, which has 9 centres throughout the north-east (including sites at Morpeth, Alnwick, Amble, Seahouses and Wooler) has developed the Fairmoor Equine Clinic in newly acquired buildings adjacent to the existing Fairmoor surgery in Morpeth.
The clinic, which offers state-of-the-art equipment, provides diagnostic, surgical, hospitalisation and recuperation facilities to equine clients across the north-east and Scottish borders.
Together with five dedicated equine vets, Alnorthumbria Equine is able to provide round the clock nursing care with access to some of the leading UK equine specialists.
Equine partner Lesley Barwise-Munro said: "The purchase and development of the new equine clinic at Fairmoor has been a major investment for the practice and it's great that we've been able to secure funding from Barclays Corporate. We're now able to offer access to some of the best equine care across the north and this development is another example of the partners' passion and commitment to providing quality care for our clients."
The veterinary practice is also investing in their existing Wagonway Road site in Alnwick, which is currently undergoing significant design and structural changes to create a much larger and modern companion and farm animal veterinary clinic. It is anticipated that the newly refurbished site will open in Autumn 2012.
Barclays Corporate provides integrated banking services to businesses, charities and public bodies that turn over more than £5m a year. It serves its clients via a global network of relationship, industry sector and product specialist managers who provide tailored solutions that include lending, risk management, trade, cash and liquidity management, and specialist asset and sales financing.
Barclays Corporate relationship director Martin Rankin has partnered with the practice to provide the necessary funding and said: "Alnorthumbria is a highly professional and progressive practice that is thriving despite the current economic challenges. We are delighted to have the opportunity to assist this forward thinking and ambitious business, helping them to bring their aspirations to fruition and we look forward to supporting them through their next phase of development."
