Charity PR seeks running mate for London Marathon

World Horse Welfare's press officer is pulling on her running shoes for the charity, but needs a running mate to join her for the 26 mile challenge in April. The charity also has spaces available for the Brighton Marathon.

World Horse Welfare's press officer will be pulling on her running shoes for the charity, but needs another running mate to join her for the 26 mile challenge in April.

On April 22, Lou Chapman is taking part in the 2012 Virgin London Marathon to raise money for the international horse charity.

However, World Horse Welfare still has one Golden Bond space left for someone to sign up to (a Golden Bond guarantees charity's five marathon places each year). However, to be able to successfully take part you would need to raise a minimum of £1,500 in sponsorship.

Lou said: "I am really looking forward to the challenge... I completed the London Marathon in 2006 and I can remember the real sense of achievement that you feel once you've crossed the finish line."

The charity also has four spaces left for the Brighton Marathon, which takes place on April 15, 2012.

Frances Plume, the charity's fundraising supporter officer, said: "It would be fantastic if anyone would like to run for us in either of the marathons... It's a great opportunity for people to raise money, as well as the profile of the charity, so we can help even more neglected and abused horses in the UK and worldwide."
