Veterinary professionals across the UK have just over a week left to nominate worthy colleagues for this year's Petplan Veterinary Awards.
The 2012 awards, run in association with Veterinary Times and VN Times, recognise the crucial role veterinary staff play at work and in their communities.
The awards include:
- Vet of the Year,
- VN of the Year,
- Vet Support Staff of the Year,
- Practice of the Year, and
- The Veterinary Business Journal Practice Manager of the Year.
The winners will be announced as part of a glittering award ceremony at Birmingham Town Hall on April 12, which takes place alongside the BSAVA World congress.
Nominations close on February 10.
2011 Vet of the Year winner Alison Laurie, from Crown Vets in Inverness, said it was "totally amazing" simply to be nominated for the award, and urged practitioners to get their votes in before the nomination deadline.
Miss Laurie, who will sit on this year's Petplan judging panel, said: "If you know a vet that you think has been outstanding you should make the effort to fill out the nomination form.
"The awards should be an inspiration for younger vets coming into the profession to have good relationships with clients — and I hope younger vets aspire to winning Petplan awards and be the best they can be."

- Nominations close on February 10.
