CAW appoints short course manager
The College of Animal Welfare has appointed Mark Hedberg as short course manager. This new position reflects the strong commitment that the college has to its CPD and short course provision.
The College of Animal Welfare is delighted to have appointed Mark Hedberg as short course manager. This new position reflects the strong commitment that the College has to its Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and short course provision.
Dr Hedberg's work will involve organising and promoting CPD and short courses for veterinary nurses, veterinary surgeons and the general public. This dedicated position will ensure the continuation and expansion of high quality and relevant CPD that really meets the needs of those working in practice.
Dr Hedberg joins the college from private practice in Kent, and prior to that in (very) mixed practice in Saudi Arabia. He has also served as regional secretary of the BSAVA Kent Region, the body that provides BSAVA's regional CPD offering in the area.
He said: "I see our work as providing both knowledge and confidence to veterinary staff, which is especially vital when we consider the increasing numbers of new and recent graduates.
"In addition to this, providing more courses for the general public will lead to a better informed pet owning population. This is very much in line with the college's mission of 'contributing to animal welfare through education and training'."
- For further information or to suggest a course you feel The College of Animal Welfare should offer, contact Dr Hedberg at mhedberg@caw.ac.uk.
