This month (November 2011) sees the launch of Forcyl, an innovative injectable anti-infective for the targeted therapeutic treatment of respiratory infections in cattle, from Vétoquinol UK Ltd.

Forcyl, an innovative injectable anti-infective for the targeted therapeutic treatment of respiratory infections in cattle.Forcyl is a patented 16% marbofloxacin solution, registered as a single intramuscular injection, ensuring a high level of compliance.

Forcyl follows the SISAAB concept (single injection short acting antibiotic), with an optimised dosage to minimise the risk of development of antibiotic resistance. Shorter exposure time limits the opportunity for resistance to develop. The innovative formulation means a lower volume of administration (10 ml for 160 kg body weight) is required.

According to the company, other benefits of Forcyl include excellent injection site tolerance and short withdrawal periods (meat: 5 days, milk: 48 hours).

  • For further information on implementing the SISAAB concept in your practice, please contact one of Vétoquinol's large animal team on 01280 814500.
