Bristol University students win Dechra awards

Dechra Veterinary Products has awarded three prizes to veterinary science students at the University of Bristol. The prizes were presented at a recent graduation ceremony held at the University.

Dechra Veterinary Products has awarded three prizes to Veterinary Science students at the University of Bristol. The prizes were presented at a recent graduation ceremony held at the University.  

Sarah Harland (R) receives her prize from Heather Metcalfe, regional manager South, Dechra Veterinary ProductsThere were two winners of the inaugural Dechra Dermatology Prize, which is awarded for the highest marks in a combination of the dermatology components within the written companion animal science exam and clinical rotations. The winners, Sarah Anne Brooks and Chloe Dennis, both received a laptop.

The winner of the Dechra Elective Award was Sarah Harland (pictured), who received a cheque for £450. This prize is awarded to the final year student achieving the highest mark in the farm animal elective.       

Susan Shaw, senior lecturer dermatology and Applied Immunology at the University of Bristol said: "We are very grateful to Dechra for providing these prizes that recognise and reward the outstanding achievements of our veterinary students, who continue to excel."

Carol Morgan, product manager at Dechra Veterinary Products, said: "We are committed to supporting students, our veterinary professionals of the future.  We wish them every success in their future careers."
