The Bella Moss Foundation (BMF) is to relaunch its online educational tool for practice staff. The website, which demonstrates how resistant infections can be dealt with and prevented in practice, will be the focus of the charity's stand at BVNA Congress 2010.
The BMF stand (029) will offer delegates the chance to learn more about the work of the charity, as well as the opportunity to check out the website, www.veterinarynursetrainingonline.org.

The site, developed in collaboration with the Royal Veterinary College and the College of Animal Welfare, includes infomation on a series of subjects, including:
- Practice acquired infections;
- Barrier nursing and isolation;
- Hand washing techniques;
- Communication and audit;
- Decontamination; and
- Antimicrobial use.
The site also offers a photographic tour of a typical veterinary surgery to identify examples of good and bad practice, and a multiple-choice questionnaire for veterinary nurses.
Helping to run the stand will be Wendy Nevins, practice manager at the Park Veterinary Centre in Liverpool, who said: "It is extremely important that as a profession we keep our knowledge on this matter current. Veterinary nurses are often in the front line of infection control within practice and it is essential that they are aware of the level of risk involved, and how to manage this risk so that it can be kept to a minimum."
The Bella Moss Foundation offers its thanks to Park Veterinary Centre and Janssen Animal Health, without whose support the charity would not be present at BVNA this year.
