BVA: Dangerous dog reform must not become a "political football"
The British Veterinary Association (BVA) has called on politicians to ensure the issue of dangerous dog legislation does not become a "political football" during the forthcoming election campaign. MoreDogs Trust is delighted that the Government has announced a long awaited consultation on measures to tackle the issue of dangerous dogs, but has warned that certain aspects need to be "carefully thought through".
The RSPCA is calling for irresponsible pet ownership to be the focus of the Government's newly announced public consultation on dog legislation.
Wildlife minister Huw Irranca-Davies has approved the release of a predatory insect to stop the spread of the non-native invasive plant Japanese Knotweed, which costs the UK economy over £150 million a year to control and clear.
